On October 29th, the academic report conference entitled "Important Application of Disease Phenomics in the Field of Clinical Translational Medicine" was held at the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. The speaker of this academic report is Professor Elaine Holmes from the Australian National Phenome Centre. As a scientist in the field of computational biomedicine, Professor Holmes has more than 20 years of rich experience in the field of metabolic phenome technology and its medical translation applications. She has taken the leading work in clinical translation research in chronic metabolic diseases such as cardiovascular, dementia, diabetes, cancer, gastrointestinal, liver, precision nutrition and other fields. Her research results have been published in top journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, Nature, and Science, etc.
      In this Seminar, Professor Holmes focused on the concept and research methods of " Phenomics", mainly introduced and shared the current status of the development of disease phenomics in the world, and deeply discussed some related applications of phenomics research results in the field of clinical translational medicine for chronic metabolic diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and the role played by the establishment of biological sample banks in this process.
