2018 Model Animal & Biotherapy Research Conference was held at the Zhejiang Academy of Medical Sciences on November 17th. The conference focused on the theme of “genetic engineering and cancer treatment”, experts from relevant research field gathered to discuss new developments and innovations about the trend of cancer treatment.
As a participant in the conference, Bio-One Scientific Instrument (Beijing) Co., Ltd. sincerely invited Dr. Shi Xudong from the Institute of Laboratory Animals of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences to share with all the latest achievements about three-dimensional near-infrared fluorescence tomography in experimental animal research.
The three-dimensional fluorescence tomography technique collects the fluorescence signal via the 360° rotated detector, and combines the near-infrared excitation source of 600-900 nm to obtain the fluorescence signal from the deep tissue of the experimental animal; on the other hand, the integrated X-ray CT scan images can help the researcher to obtain real 3D image data.
Currently, Dr. Shi and his colleagues' research focuses on tumor diagnosis, viral infection, lung disease and biodistribution of drugs. The wonderful case sharing has aroused the interest of other experts. All look forward the three-dimensional fluorescent labeling technology may bring more benefits to the clinical transformation and practical application of related tumor treatment research.
